MINOR
This bill extends the deadline for departments and agencies to pay overdue employer retirement contributions and changes when the retirement system must report on non-compliance. The payment deadline is now one full fiscal year after the failure occurs instead of the following fiscal year, giving employers more time to prepare payments. Additionally, the annual compliance report will cover the previous fiscal year instead of the current one, allowing more time for review and analysis.
Scope change
The bill applies to all state departments, agencies, and counties that fail to provide required retirement system information in the proper format.
TIMELINE
Extended the deadline for paying overdue employer contributions from the first day of the fiscal year following the failure to the first day of the fiscal year one year after the failure occurred.
REQUIREMENT
Changed the annual compliance report to cover the previous fiscal year instead of the current fiscal year, allowing more time for data review and analysis.
ENFORCEMENT
Updated the effective date of the Act from immediate approval to July 1, 3000, which appears to be a placeholder or error in the legislative text.
