URGING THE STATE FOUNDATION ON CULTURE AND THE ARTS TO CONVENE A TASK FORCE TO DEVELOP ART, BRANDING, AND NARRATIVES FOR AN APPROPRIATE SELECTION OF HAWAII'S UNIQUE COMMUNITIES, LANDMARKS, PARKS, AND OTHER SIMILAR AREAS.

This Senate Resolution asks the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts to create a task force that designs art, branding, and stories for select Hawaiian communities, landmarks, and parks. The proposed group would include representatives from state agencies, the University of Hawaii, and the arts foundation to study how other places successfully market themselves. Their goal is to develop a plan that helps Hawaii control its own image and potentially generate revenue through official merchandise, rather than relying on outside companies. The task force must submit its findings and any suggested laws to the Legislature by early 2025.
