RELATING TO COASTAL EROSION.

Summary

Establishes and appropriates funds for a two-year program at the University of Hawaii, College of Engineering to study the impact of sandbag walls, or "sand burritos", on sand movement patterns and coastal erosion and on public trust resources, including beach access, coastal water quality, and recreation, at Ehukai Beach Park; including from the shoreline area near Ke Ike road to Sunset beach. Requires a report to the legislature before the Regular Session of 2025. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD1)
