Financial Literacy Instruction in Public Schools

Financial Literacy Instruction in Public Schools; Citing this act as the “Dorothy L. Hukill Financial Literacy Act”; revising the requirements regarding financial literacy for the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards; revising the required credits for a standard high school diploma to include one-half credit of instruction in personal financial literacy and money management and seven and one-half, rather than eight, credits in electives; modifying the requirements for the award of a standard high school diploma for Academically Challenging Curriculum to Enhance Learning options, etc.

Fetal and Infant Mortality Reduction

Fetal and Infant Mortality Reduction; Revising the purpose and requirements for the Comprehensive Statewide Tobacco Education and Use Prevention Program; requiring the Department of Health to contract with local healthy start coalitions for the creation of fetal and infant mortality review committees in all regions of this state; prohibiting a physician from performing a termination of pregnancy if the physician determines the gestational age of a fetus is more than a specified number of weeks, with exceptions; requiring the directors of certain medical facilities and certain physicians to submit a certain report to the Agency for Health Care Administration monthly, etc. APPROPRIATION: $260,000

Promoting Equality of Athletic Opportunity

Promoting Equality of Athletic Opportunity; Creating the "Promoting Equality of Athletic Opportunity Act"; requiring that certain athletic teams or sports sponsored by certain educational institutions be designated on the basis of students’ biological sex; prohibiting athletic teams or sports designated for female students from being open to male students; specifying conditions under which persons who transition from male to female are eligible to compete in the female category; requiring a student that fails to comply with certain conditions to be suspended from female competition for 12 months; requiring the Board of Governors of the State University System to adopt regulations and the State Board of Education to adopt rules regarding the resolution of disputes, etc.
