Public Records/Crime Stoppers Organizations

Added new exemption (subparagraph z) for employees, board members, and volunteers of crime stoppers organizations as defined in s. 16.557(1), including their spouses and children.

Added new provisions requiring written, notarized requests from individuals to maintain exempt status when the custodial agency is not their employer (Section 3).

Added sunset review provisions requiring repeal of various exemptions on October 2, 2028, 2029, or 2030 unless reviewed and reenacted by the Legislature.

Added new exemptions for additional personnel categories including state attorneys, magistrates, human resources directors, code enforcement officers, public defenders, business regulation investigators, tax collectors, health department personnel, addiction treatment facility staff, child advocacy center members, domestic violence advocates, agriculture inspectors, and county attorneys.

Added new definition for 'addiction treatment facility' in subsection 2.s to clarify which facilities qualify for the exemption.

Added provisions allowing individuals to request release of their exempt information and clarifying procedures for county property appraisers and tax collectors to remove exempt information from public records.
