Automatic License Plate Reader Systems; Authorizes counties & municipalities to install automatic license plate reader systems; requires DHSMV to establish Uninsured Vehicle Enforcement Program; requires department to install & operate automatic license plate reader systems on infrastructure; authorizes department to use such systems to access & collect certain data; authorizes department to contract with entity to provide necessary technology, equipment, & maintenance; authorizes law enforcement officers to verify certain information by sworn affidavit; prohibits data collected or retained from being used for purposes other than traffic safety & traffic monitoring; prohibits law enforcement agencies & certain other agencies from selling license plate data or sharing such data; authorizes department to adopt rules.
