Vaccine Administration Protection Emergency Amendment Act of 2026

This bill amends D.C. law to protect healthcare providers and their employers from civil liability when administering vaccines that are legally required or recommended by public health authorities. The protection covers injuries or adverse reactions that result from prescribing, dispensing, ordering, furnishing, or administering eligible vaccines, as long as the provider did not act with willful misconduct or gross negligence. The legislation applies to vaccines authorized by District law or recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Health, or designated medical organizations. This temporary emergency measure is designed to ensure healthcare workers can safely provide immunizations to residents and visitors without fear of lawsuits.
