B 26-0347 Legislature · 26th Council Period (2025-2026)

Residential Tranquility Second Congressional Review Emergency Amendment Act of 2025

This bill amends the Residential Tranquility Act to prohibit using sound amplifying devices (like megaphones) for demonstrations targeting residences between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. in residential zones, and bans leaving unattended sound devices emitting sound during those hours. It also makes it illegal to throw objects onto residential property with the intent to intimidate or harass residents. The law excludes car stereos used only by vehicle occupants from the definition of sound amplifying devices. The bill repeals a previous temporary amendment and takes effect immediately for a 90-day emergency period.
