DC Water Critical Infrastructure FOI Clarification Temporary Amendment Act of 2024

This bill temporarily updates the District of Columbia's Freedom of Information Act to include the DC Water and Sewer Authority's critical infrastructure plans in the list of information exempt from public release. Currently, the law protects such sensitive data only for companies regulated by the Public Service Commission, so this amendment explicitly extends that protection to DC Water. The change is designed to keep vital details about water and sewer systems secure from public disclosure while the amendment is in effect. The legislation will remain active for 225 days after it takes effect, after which the exemption for DC Water will expire unless renewed.
