AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 14 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND EXTENDED REALITY IN SCHOOLS PILOT PROGRAM.
What changed between versions
Program expiration changed from 3 years after the end of the 2027-2028 school year (approximately 2031) to 3 years after the end of the 2026-2027 school year (approximately 2030), shortening the pilot by one year.
The final report deadline remains September 30, 2030. The prior amendment had proposed moving it to September 30, 2031, but that change was not carried forward in the substitute.
The provision stating the Act is 'effective immediately and implemented July 1, 2027' was removed from the substitute.
The bill was restructured from a targeted amendment to an existing House Substitute into a full standalone act with complete text of Chapter 49, Title 14, including definitions, program administration, reporting requirements, and expiration.
Additional cosponsors were added: Sen. Buckson as co-sponsor, plus Reps. D. Short, Kamela Smith, Michael Smith, S. Moore, Neal, Ortega, and Sen. Wilson.
