AN ACT CONCERNING HOMEMAKER-COMPANION AGENCIES.

SB 1344 requires homemaker-companion agencies (in-home care providers for seniors or individuals with disabilities) to implement mandatory employee training. By December 2025, the Consumer Protection Commissioner must create a list of approved training programs covering topics like CPR, abuse reporting, dementia care, and maintaining safe environments. New employees must receive at least 10 paid training hours within 90 days, and all employees must complete 10 hours of annual continuing education using the approved list starting in 2026. The bill also increases the agency registration fee from $375 to $450.
