AN ACT CONCERNING TRANSPARENCY IN VETERINARY NEGLIGENCE INVESTIGATIONS.
HB 5295 requires that the owner of an animal be informed about the status and outcome of any investigation into an allegation of veterinary negligence, even if the allegation was made by someone other than the owner. This applies only when the allegation relates to veterinary care provided to the animal. The bill does not require disclosure if the allegation is unrelated to veterinary care. The law aims to increase transparency in how veterinary negligence investigations are handled for animal owners.
