HB 5503 Connecticut House · 2024 Regular Session

AN ACT CONCERNING INSURANCE MARKET CONDUCT AND INSURANCE LICENSING, THE INSURANCE DEPARTMENT'S TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS AND OTHER REVISIONS TO THE INSURANCE STATUTES AND CAPTIVE INSURANCE.

This bill directs the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development to conduct a study on workforce shortages, development programs, and training availability within the state. The study must analyze how these factors impact commercial activity and must be completed by January 1, 2025. Once finished, the commissioner is required to submit a report detailing the findings to the joint standing committee on commerce. This legislation creates a new reporting requirement but does not immediately change existing laws or allocate specific funding.
