AN ACT ESTABLISHING A NO-WAKE ZONE ON THE PAWCATUCK RIVER AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN RIPARIAN BUFFERS.

This bill creates a no-wake zone on the Pawcatuck River to protect the waterway and surrounding areas from boat wake. Effective July 1, 2024, it prohibits anyone from operating a vessel faster than a slow-no-wake speed between Red Navigation Marker No. 16 at Pawcatuck Rock and Red Navigation Marker No. 6 at Graves Neck. Violations of this rule will be treated as infractions and enforced by the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection according to existing state laws.
