Repeal Obsolete Law Colorado Congressional Districts

Statutory Revision Committee. The bill repeals a law relating to Colorado's congressional districts that has been rendered obsolete by the redistricting premised on the 2010 federal census. In addition, certain portions of the law being repealed were held unconstitutional by the state supreme court in People Ex Rel. Salazar v. Davidson , 79 P.3d 1221 (Colo. 2003) cert. denied, 541 U.S. 1093, 124 S. Ct. 2228, 159 L. Ed. 2d 260 (2004). The repeal of this law results in the removal of over 9,000 words of text from the Colorado Revised Statutes. The bill also makes a conforming amendment.
