SB 372 Arkansas Senate · 2025 Regular Session

TO AMEND THE LAW CONCERNING THE SIGNAL LEGEND OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES; AND TO ALLOW A VEHICLE DRIVER TO ENTER AN INTERSECTION WHILE A RED LIGHT IS INDICATED ON A TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES.

SB 372 proposed to amend Arkansas law regarding traffic control devices. It would have allowed drivers to cautiously enter an intersection on a steady red light under specific circumstances. Drivers could proceed if there was no other traffic approaching or in the intersection, provided they first came to a complete stop. However, drivers would not be permitted to enter if other vehicles were already in or approaching the intersection from another roadway. If a driver legally entered on a red light, other approaching traffic would then be required to yield to them.
