TO AMEND THE LAW CONCERNING DRIVER'S LICENSES; AND TO AMEND THE LAW CONCERNING THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN INTERMEDIATE DRIVER'S LICENSE.

HB 1913 amends Arkansas law concerning driver's licenses, specifically impacting young drivers applying for or holding an intermediate driver's license. It requires applicants for a learner's or intermediate license to have been free of serious accidents and traffic violations for the most recent six-month period. The bill also extends the period an intermediate license holder must be free of serious accidents and traffic violations from six months to twelve months before qualifying for a regular driver's license upon reaching age eighteen. An intermediate license is issued for up to two years and can be renewed as a regular license if these conditions are met.
