SB 1527 automatically extends current licenses and waives renewal fees for license holders when a regulatory board suspends processing renewal applications. This applies to both health profession boards (e.g., for doctors or nurses) and non-health licensing authorities (e.g., for contractors or cosmetologists). During the suspension period, existing licenses remain valid, and no renewal fees are charged to holders. The bill affects all current licensees under these covered boards, not new applicants. It became law after the governor signed it in May 2025.
