This bill updates Arizona laws to allow schools offering online instruction to administer required assessments in either a virtual setting or a physical testing center. Under the new rules, schools conducting virtual tests must assign specific dates and times, manage sessions live with designated staff, and provide proctors at a ratio of one per ten students to monitor students via video. For assessments held at physical testing centers, schools must follow similar live management protocols but only need one proctor for every fifteen students. The legislation also restricts the use of virtual or testing center settings for specific high-stakes exams, such as college readiness tests, Advanced Placement exams, and International Baccalaureate exams, unless these tests can be taken remotely.
