An Act relating to the workers' compensation benefits guaranty fund; and providing for an effective date.

This bill establishes the workers' compensation benefits guaranty fund as a separate account within the state treasury to support the state's workers' compensation system. The fund will be financed through civil penalties paid by employers, investment earnings, deposits from the state department, and potential future appropriations. Money placed in the fund will not expire and can be used to pay claims against the fund, cover operational expenses, and fund legal costs related to the fund. The legislation takes effect immediately upon passage.
