An Act relating to the Board of Agriculture and Conservation; relating to loans and limitations under the Alaska Agricultural Loan Act; exempting certain foods and drinks prepared in an uninspected kitchen from state labeling, licensing, packaging, permitting, and inspection requirements; permitting a person to acquire meat from a producer by way of an ownership share in an animal if certain conditions are met; and providing for an effective date.

This law updates the rules for the Alaska Board of Agriculture and Conservation regarding its meetings and loan programs. It changes the number of members needed to hold a valid meeting from four to five and expands the types of projects eligible for state agricultural loans, such as land clearing, farm development, and the commercial production of animal feed. The bill also adjusts the maximum loan amounts and repayment terms, allowing farm development loans to last up to 30 years and increasing the total loan limit to $3 million with annual inflation adjustments. Additionally, the legislation exempts certain foods and drinks made in uninspected kitchens from various state labeling and inspection rules, and it permits individuals to buy meat directly from producers through ownership shares in specific animals under set conditions.
