An Act relating to the supplemental nutrition assistance program; and providing for an effective date.

This bill updates Alaska's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program rules to ensure the state remains eligible for federal funding and expands assistance to households with income up to 200 percent of the federal poverty limit, regardless of their assets. It requires the Department of Health to create an online application system for benefits and mandates that applicants understand the legal consequences of providing false information on their forms. The law takes effect immediately for regulatory implementation, with the main provisions becoming active on July 1, 2025.
